THEATRE INVOLVEMENT
THEATRICAL DESIGN 1
This was my first stage design class and I learned so much from this experience. I got a chance to understand the creative process stage designers go through putting a set together for a play or musical. I also got the chance to work with a group and plan and design our own hypothetical set along with costumes and lighting for a play.
COSTUME PRACTICUM
Even being online for this course I have learned many different hand sewing techniques as well as what goes into choosing, renting and creating costumes for plays, musical and dance concerts. We have also discussed the aspects of sustainability of fashion and how the industry has grown from the beginning.
THEATRICAL DESIGN 2
During this class I have been able to dive deeper into all aspects of stage design in many different ways. I have gotten to touch on sound, stage, costume, and lighting design to better understand the design process that takes place when producing a show!
RUNNING CREW
During this class, I have gotten the opportunity to dive into all things crew. I have learned about the ins and outs of almost all aspects of the theatre crew. I also got the chance to observe the sound crew for the musical Boys and the Nuns and gave me a chance to see what it is like running sound for a musical as well as what its like to run a show like this on an online platform.
MOVEMENT THEORY AND TECHNIQUE
In this class we explored movement for actors as whole. This class was an advanced acting student immersive workshop style course in movement techniques and practices. We learned a lot about different approaches to movement from an actors lens and learn about techniques used in the professional acting field that are used by directors all over the world.
